Small Group Breakfast Meeting for Underrepresented Scholars
This breakfast is intended to support economists who have faced barriers to entry or advancement, including those with limited access to mentorship or institutional resources. Because space is limited to 20, participation will be determined based on factors such as career stage, access to professional networks, and ability to benefit from the event’s mentoring focus. We encourage anyone who identifies with these challenges to express interest.
The event features esteemed special guests each year:
- 2026: Lawrence Katz
- 2025: Janet Currie
- 2024: Janet Currie
- 2023: Christina Romer, Susan Athey
- 2020: James Poterba
A past attendee said, "The CSMGEP breakfast provided opportunities for me to meet leaders in our field to ask important career questions. It also introduced me to a cohort of economists from similar backgrounds, which is hard to come across. I recommend this program to anyone looking for more career guidance or a community of scholars who have faced similar challenges."
