CSWEP Seeks Mentors for Annual Mentoring Breakfasts
We invite you to serve as a mentor at the 2023 CSWEP Mentoring Breakfasts to be held in conjunction with the upcoming 2023 AEA/ASSA Meetings in New Orleans, LA.
This year CSWEP plans to host two mentoring breakfasts for junior economists. One event will be on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 8:00-10:00 am CST in the CSWEP room at the Hilton Riverside New Orleans hotel on the third floor in the Jefferson Ballroom. The second breakfast will be held online via Zoom on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 pm CST. This mentoring experience is intended for junior economists who have completed their PhD in the past 7 years or graduate students who are on the job market. Mentor volunteers can be of any gender identity but should be tenured or have achieved the equivalent status in a government agency or other nonacademic setting. If you fit this description, we hope you will be willing to spend an hour mingling with and answering questions from junior economists.
We also plan to host our annual peer mentoring breakfast for mid-career economists on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 8:00-10:00 am CST in the CSWEP room at the Hilton Riverside New Orleans hotel on the third floor in the Jefferson Ballroom. This mentoring experience is intended for female economists who are tenured academics at either associate or full rank or non-academics who are 8+ years post-PhD. Mentors should be senior women who are at the rank of full professor.
Please email info@cswep.org with any questions.
Feel free to invite your senior colleagues and friends to serve as mentors as well.
Also, please encourage your mid-career and junior colleagues and graduate students on the job market to register for the events as mentees. Details are available on the CSWEP website.
We hope to see you there!
