Full Text of JOE Listing:
J-PAL Global’s Governance Initiative (GI) (co-chaired by Frederico Finan and Rohini Pande) invite applications for a Post-Doctoral fellowship in the Political Economy of Development. The position is for two years and will start summer/fall 2021. The fellow will pursue policy-relevant research on topics in political economy and also support GI activities. Responsibilities include working with the co-chairs on a review piece on current trends in the political economy of development, such as democratic backsliding and the role of social media in affecting political behavior. The fellow will also help coordinate GI outreach activities, including conferences and webinars.
The position will be based for the first year at the University of California, Berkeley and for the second year at Yale University.
The position offers the opportunity to join a research partnership with a strong track record of high-quality publication and policy impact; is likely to lead to several co-authored papers; and is designed to help the selected candidate launch a successful academic career with a strong research pipeline.
