Visiting Instructor of Economics
Birmingham-Southern College (BSC) invites applications for a Visiting Instructor of Economics for the 2019-2020 academic year. The area of specialty is open. However, the teaching load will include econometrics.
A Ph.D. in economics is preferred; a master’s degree in economics is required. In your cover letter, please address your interest in teaching at a liberal arts college and how your experiences with teaching, scholarship, and service might contribute to a college community whose core values include a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Providing an outstanding undergraduate education is the primary mission of the College, and applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. The teaching load for this position is 3-1-4 (Fall-January term-Spring). The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain continued scholarly activity that engages undergraduate students. All faculty members are expected to participate fully in the life of the department and College through activities such as academic advising and committee service.
