Postdoctoral Positions on Welfare Analysis based on Behavioural Economics

Team:
We are a research team of plus minus 20 people (both senior and junior researchers) hosted at four different Belgian universities: University of Antwerp (Centre for Socio-Economic Policy), KU Leuven (Department of economics), UC Louvain (CORE) and Université libre de Bruxelles (ECARES). Each of us is working at different aspects related to measuring individual well-being. With the support of the BELSPO grant "Measuring Equivalent Income" we formed in 2013 this team to allow us to collaborate on this fascinating topic and to gather a unique household survey on Belgian households. Job Openings:
We are hiring two postdoctoral researchers to work on this research project. The candidates will be hosted at one of the four universities, which will depend upon the specific research interests of the candidate. The candidates should be fluent in spoken and written English. Those with a strong quantitative background and/or who have empirical experience related to the project objectives will be favoured.

The postdoctoral researcher holds a PhD in economics, or a closely related area, preferably on a closely related topic. In particular we are looking for a postdoctoral researcher in decision theory. (S)he will be actively involved in obtaining the objectives of the project. In principle, the position does not come with any teaching duties, but, depending on the preferences of the candidate, this is negotiable.

Offer:
We can offer the postdoctoral research a full-time contract of two years. The contract starts in principle at September 1, 2018, but we can be flexible in this respect. In case the candidate wants to stay for a longer period, we will help him/her in attracting extra funding. The net salary is of an order of 2400 euros per month. The recruited person benefits from the complete Belgian social insurance scheme (health care, etc.) without additional expenses.
