The Department of Economics anticipates openings for full-time one-year positions for the 2016-2017 academic year. Minimum qualifications are a recent ABD in Economics, evidence of teaching effectiveness and achievement of faculty qualification criteria as determined by our College’s current AACSB standards. Preferred qualifications are a PhD in Economics, demonstrated teaching excellence in classes where the applicant was the instructor of record and experience teaching statistics or econometrics to undergraduate students. The teaching load is four sections per semester with section sizes generally between 20 and 45 students. Subsequent one-year appointments are dependent on performance and departmental needs. Successful applicants may be asked to teach one or more of the following courses: principles of macroeconomics, principles of microeconomics, development of the Pacific Rim (general education), economic issues (general education) or applied business statistics.
