Auburn University’s Department of Economics is seeking candidates for a tenure track position at the Associate Professor rank. A successful applicant must have a strong research program in the area of Economic History and a record of external funding. A successful applicant must also be able to engage in quality teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Research or teaching experience with some relevance to macroeconomics is also desirable. The duties of this position include publishing research in high quality academic journals, acquiring external research grants, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, directing dissertations, and performing service for the university and the profession. A Ph.D. in Economics is required.

The position can begin as soon as August 16, 2016, but the start date is negotiable. Final appointment is contingent upon funding. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required.
