CAF is a multilateral financial institution that promotes sustainable development and regional integration in Latin America (more information at www.caf.com).

We are currently seeking an experienced research economist to fill the position of Director of Socioeconomic Studies. This is a great opportunity to coordinate a research team that is responsible for the analysis of development issues concerning our region today, conducting applied research on these topics and participating in the design of CAF’s development strategies for countries in Latin America.

We are interested in Economists whose research interests may include some of the following: development, labor economics, applied microeconomics, applied micro econometrics, trade, and/or public economics.

The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Economics, with a desire to conduct research of high standards on the indicated topics and an interest on policy issues. A proved record of published papers in recognized general and/or top field journals is required. Excellent communication skills and strong analytical and quantitative abilities are also necessary. Fluency in English and Spanish is essential.

This position will be located at some of the CAF offices thorough out Latin America (preferably Bogotá, Colombia).
