The Center for Financing, Access and Cost Trends anticipates two position openings for Ph.D.-level economists interested in conducting research on the U.S. health care system. Position openings exist in both the Division of Social and Economic Research and the Division of Modeling and Simulation. The successful applicant(s) will join one of these teams of interdisciplinary researchers generating policy-relevant publications in economics, health policy, and health services research journals. Individuals will also contribute to technical assistance for policymakers and to the analytical design of the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS), a series of large surveys of households, employers, and providers. We seek candidates with strong research potential and excellent applied microeconomic skills (both theoretical and econometric). We will be interviewing at the 2015 ASSA meetings in Boston. These position openings are for 3-year appointments with for 4-year extensions possible. The GS 13-14 salary range is $89K-$138K.
