Position Description:
RAND is seeking a nationally recognized, innovative, and visionary research leader to advance RAND's health policy research. The Paul O'Neill Alcoa Chair was established in 2000 in support of RAND's long-standing commitment to education and health policy research and provides generous funding to support a nationally recognized researcher in building RAND's research in one of these areas. The third recipient of the Paul O'Neill Alcoa Chair will provide intellectual leadership to inform health policy and practice, build a successful program of externally funded research, mentor and develop junior researchers, and strengthen RAND's interdisciplinary research program.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. in economics, health policy, health services, public health, sociology, or related fields and/or an M.D. with health policy research experience. A minimum of 10 years of experience is required with an established record of excellence, including a strong academic publication record. A successful candidate is expected to serve as a national policy expert who will contribute to informing public policy through publications in high profile academic and policy journals, op-ed articles and commentaries, and public testimony. Experience in research program development and demonstrated ability to secure external funding are required.
