The UWF Haas Center seeks a Chief Research Officer to lead its research efforts in the area of business and economic development. The Center is organizationally located in UWF's Division of the President and is part of the state designated Florida Small Business Development Center with 60 satellite offices and 250 employees throughout the State of Florida. The Haas Center contracts annually with regional and state entities for workforce analysis and business development.
The incumbent is responsible for delivery of grant and contract-funded research in the areas of economic, business, community and workforce development; including identification of new contract opportunities, development of relationships leading to contract opportunities; development and definition of scope, cost and objectives for applied projects, and the delivery, presentation, and overall quality control of research projects. The incumbent must have strong project and marketing capabilities, research methods and statistical analysis knowledge, along with written report and presentation abilities. The Director will oversee the Haas Team, be responsible for budget, contract negotiation and all deliverables, as well as serve as part of the leadership team for the Florida Small Business Development Center Network.
Minimum requirements are a Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience, or a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of experience. Preferred requirements are a PhD in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience.
Salary range is $80,000-90,000
