Participate in both self-initiated and collaborative research projects focusing on economic and health policy research highly relevant to cancer risk factors (e.g. tobacco, alcohol abuse, nutrition, obesity and physical activity) situated within the discussion of the broader global development agenda. Publish research papers about and support research capacity-building in lower-resource countries. Disseminate and promote the research results to internal and external audiences with a focus on development agencies such as the World Bank, IMF, UNDP and WHO, and national and international civil society organizations. Collaborate on public health research projects within ACS and the ACS Cancer Action Network, and with external collaborators. Support the Managing Director of the Economic and Health Policy Research program in day-to-day management of junior research staff and external research collaborations. Represent ACS and the Program at domestic and international conferences and meetings.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
-PhD in Economics or related field; strong econometric skills
-Research experience and strong relevant publishing record
-Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
-Project management experience
-Capability to work independently
-Experience working in cross-cultural/international settings
